​​​​​Lota State School implements the Australian Curriculum in the following learning areas: 

  • English - literature, language and literacy using the processes of reading, writing, viewing and speaking.
  • Mathematics - number and algebra, measurement and geometry, and statistics and probability.

  • Science - biological, physical, chemical and earth and space sciences.

  • HASS - Humanities and Social Sciences (History, Geography, Civics, Business)

  • The Arts - drama, dance, media and visual art, music

  • Health and Physical education

  • Technology – Digital Technology

  • Language other than English (LOTE) - French from Prep to Year 6. 

Languages Other Than English (LOTE)

The Language Other Than English (LOTE) at Lota State School is French. It is part of the school program from Prep to Year 6. The aim of our LOTE program is to introduce students to the French language and culture. The course is primarily an oral course with an emphasis on the development of language proficiency in speaking and listening. There may be short projects and assignments involving writing and reading.​
